A surprise picnic in Valencia: because who says it’s only for couples?
Who says surprising someone is only for couples?
That’s exactly what I thought when I wanted to surprise two friends for their birthday this week.
I had an idea: a cosy breakfast picnic in Valencia, in a beautiful location, with delicious food and, of course, a few Spanish favourites.
There was just one small problem…
They obviously couldn’t know what I had planned. 😉
“There’s a cute pop-up!”
So I told them there was a fun pop-up event and that we were going there.
But when we arrived, there was no pop-up. Instead, there was a beautifully prepared breakfast picnic for two (well… three 😉) waiting for us.
Fresh croissants, orange juice (of course! 🍊), fresh fruit, delicious toppings, coffee and a few Spanish bites. And naturally, a beautiful setting too — because presentation matters!
Their reaction?
Priceless. 🥹❤️
They were completely surprised and even a little emotional.
And honestly, that may have been my favourite part of all.
Because in the end, a surprise picnic in Valencia isn’t just about the food or the beautiful styling.
It’s about showing someone:
“I planned this especially for you.”
Picnics aren’t just for couples
When we think of a romantic picnic, we might automatically picture a couple, a bottle of cava and a beautiful sunset.
And yes… that can be absolutely wonderful. 😉
But why should we save picnics just for romantic occasions?
A picnic in Valencia is also perfect for:

A breakfast picnic in Valencia
Personally, I think a breakfast picnic in Valencia is one of the nicest ways to experience the city.
Start your day slowly.
Find a beautiful spot, enjoy the sunshine, have a coffee, eat some fresh fruit and something delicious and most importantly, have plenty of time to catch up.
No rushing.
No complicated schedule.
Just enjoying time together.
And of course, it helps that Valencia is such a perfect city for a picnic.
With its sunshine, beautiful parks, gardens and relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere, there are plenty of wonderful places to enjoy a picnic with friends or family.

After this morning, I know one thing for sure:

Not just for couples, but also for friends, mothers, sisters and anyone you’d love to share a special moment with.
Because sometimes you don’t need to give a big gift.
Sometimes, a beautiful morning together is more than enough.
