The glamorous life of a proposal planner… sometimes comes with a trolley ;)

When people imagine the life of an event planner, they probably picture beautiful venues, flowers, champagne, elegant tablescapes and happy couples.

And yes… there is plenty of that.

But sometimes, the ´glamorous´ life of a wedding and proposal planner looks a little more like this: me, walking through Valencia with a trolley absolutely full of wedding and event supplies 😂

From Ruzafa to the Turia

I live in Ruzafa, one of my favourite neighbourhoods in Valencia, and this weekend found myself heading towards the Turia Gardens with my trusty trolley in tow.

It was filled with all the little things I might need for an event. Nothing particularly glamorous.

But after more than 10 years of living and working as a event planner in Valencia, I've learned that being prepared is one of the most important parts of the job.

Because you never quite know what the day is going to bring.

What does an event planner actually carry around?

You might be surprised. There are the obvious things: styling details, ribbons, candles and little pieces that help bring the overall vision together.

And then there are the things you bring because you know that, at some point, you're probably going to need them.

Scissors? Always.

Tape? Definitely.

Something to fix something that wasn't supposed to need fixing? Absolutely.

And probably a few things that I packed "just in case" and never ended up using. 😂

That's part of event planning.

You plan everything carefully, but you also prepare for the unexpected.

The part of wedding planning you don't see on Instagram

Instagram tends to show the beautiful final result.

The flowers are in place.

The table is perfectly styled.

The candles are lit.

The couple arrives.

Everything looks effortless.

But behind that moment is usually a lot of preparation.

There are location visits, supplier calls, deliveries, timelines, setup, styling, checking the details, solving little problems and sometimes simply walking across Valencia with a trolley full of things. And honestly?

I love that part too.

Because when everything finally comes together and you see the couple enjoying the moment, you know that all those little details were worth it.

Valencia is my office… and my home

One of the things I love most about being a proposal and wedding planner in Valencia is that my work is so connected to the city itself.

After more than 10 years here, Valencia isn't just somewhere I organise weddings and proposals. It's home.

I know the neighbourhoods, the streets, the light at different times of the day, the places I would recommend for dinner and the little corners that make the city special.

Sometimes I might be checking out a location for a proposal in the morning, walking through Ruzafa in the afternoon and heading to the Turia with a trolley full of event supplies before the day is over.

It´s a pretty good office, if you ask me. 😉

The reality behind the beautiful moments

Wedding and proposal planning isn't always glamorous.

Sometimes it's hot.

Sometimes it's windy.

Sometimes you're carrying more than you thought you would.

Sometimes something doesn't go according to plan and you have to think quickly.

And sometimes… you're just pushing a trolley through Valencia.

But that's also what makes this job so rewarding.

After more than 10 years as a wedding planner, I've learned that the beautiful moments don't happen by accident.

They come from all the planning, preparation, experience and little details that happen behind the scenes.

So the next time you see a beautiful wedding or proposal on Instagram, remember that there might just be a planner somewhere nearby with a very full trolley 😂

And honestly, no need to go to the gym thanks to that HA!
